Beyond Yocto: Exploring Debian for Embedded Linux Development

While Yocto is a powerful tool for building Custom Linux Distributions, it’s not necessarily suitable for everyone’s needs. The complexity of Yocto led me to explore other options that could potentially be a better fit. Debian is a great alternative, although it has some limitations.

In this talk, I’ll discuss the pros and cons of Yocto and Debian as a Linux Distribution for embedded systems. I’ll also share some real-life examples from my own experience where one proved to be a better choice than the other while working on Texas Instruments Sitara platforms.
