Héctor Orón Martínez
My fascination about technology led me to pursue a degree in Telecommunications Engineering with a specialization in electronics.
I began my career developing hardware for satellite-based train blocking system, and in my spare time, I dived into the world of micro controllers and FPGAs.
In 2005, I joined Emdebian, packaging tools (cross compilers) for embedded systems development. This experience opened the doors to a community passionate about free software. My involvement with Debian grew over time. I organized workshops, joined the Debian system administration team, assisted in organizing the annual Debian conference (DebConf), took on responsibilities as the organization's treasurer, and more.
In essence, my professional journey has been marked by a passion for technology and a commitment to free software. Through my participation in Debian, I have had the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a global project that benefits thousands of individuals and businesses worldwide.
